Responsibilities: Will be involved in handling various transactional and counseling matters related to patents, copyrights, trade secrets and trademarks. Participate in structuring, drafting and negotiating a variety of legal documents, including multi-party development or research agreements, IP licensing agreements, collaboration agreements and intellectual property policies.


Remuneration: The Internships/Externships under this program do not provide remuneration to the participant. Participation in the program will require selectees to sign a Waiver of Compensation and a Statement of Volunteer Service.



Requirements:


  • Applicants cannot be employed by a law firm in any capacity during their tenure in the internship/externship program.
  • Participation in the Externship/Internship program carries the following restriction:
  • Following the conclusion of the appointment, the applicant should not participate in any actions related to any NetWEB Elite Solutions patent cases worked on during the internship/externship period.

  • Duration of the Internships/Externships:
    If participation in the program is intended to be for credit as part of the regular course work towards a Juris Doctor degree, the program will
    usually require the commitment of at least 120 hours for a three (3) credit course. This is only a guideline. Applicants should consult with their law school advisors to see if their respective institutions have their own guidelines. The burden is on applicants to ensure that their respective law school will grant the credit sought.
  • Requirements for Candidates:
  • The candidate's application must include or will require the following items:


    1. A statement of good standing by the ABA accredited law school currently in attendance
    2. Evidence that the law student has successfully completed a course in Patent Law or its equivalent
    3. A signed Statement of Volunteer Service and Waiver of Compensation


    Desired Qualification: Current college junior, senior or graduate student in industry?related major.
