Web Developer Intern at Virtual Organization Management Institute in Local, CA

Responsibilities: Will be working on a variety of projects for small businesses to multinational companies. These projects include small design and ecommerce websites to super-scalable web services, data warehouse systems handling terabytes, embedded Linux, CMS-driven websites for medium size to large corporate enterprise, ecommerce systems processing millions to billions of dollars in transactions.

Will be using open source, employing the latest technologies and aggressively experimenting with new ones. Will be using CMS, CSS, C++, Django, DotNetNuke, Mambo, WebGUI, Alfresco, Flash, Java, Javascript, Laszlo, Linux, Perl, Python, REST, MySQL, SQL, XML, Twisted, XP, Zope and others

You will also have the option to pick and choose the open source CMS you are most interested in specializing in at the following location:

Requirements: Entry- level

Desired Qualification:
Intern Qualifications:


  • Excellent knowledge of XML, HTML, DHTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL, Perl, C++ etc.
  • Experience in designing websites, very good design skills (Photoshop, Macromedia Fireworks)
  • Experience with Content Management Systems a plus, but not a must. This can be learned during the internship
  • Experience with Search Engine Optimization a plus, but this can also be learned during the internship


Minimum Qualifications: Current college junior, senior or graduate student in industry related major.

Compensation: Unpaid internship. Cash Awards based on performance. Freelance paid assignments available based on performance and experience.
